Leaping Ibex Chalet (2696)
Leaping Ibex Chalet (2696)
This chalet cuckoo clock pays tribute to the goat’s wild cousin, the ibex, who prefers the more vertical, rugged terrain above the snow line. Male ibex are famous for their imposing, backward-curling horns. In the scene presented, you see two male ibex facing each other. Upon hearing the sound of the cuckoo bird the ibex leap into the air. The chalet is very similar to the one found in ‘Leaping Goats’, with a pair of pine trees on either side, and window shutters painted a striking red to match the eaves.
