Plymouth Oak - Bell Strike
Plymouth Oak - Bell Strike
The Plymouth Bell Strike is modeled after the Victorian English Dial Clocks that were manufactured in England from the late 1800’s to mid 1930’s. Like most English Dial clocks, the dial is inscribed with the maker’s name, Comitti, as well as the town manufactured, London. The wooden case is made of solid oak that has been hand polished to a gentle gloss finish. The 10 inch dial is made with an enamel finish and features two keyholes for winding the clock. One keyhole enables the hands to turn while the other keyhole powers the striking of the bell. The movement of this model is an eight day bell strike movement featuring a balance wheel. A gentle bell chimes the hour count (9 bells at 9:00) and once on the half past. The hands are period correct and made of thick steel with a black coating. The nickel sliver bezel housing a mineral glass is on a hinge, allowing it to open for weekly winding and any adjusting of the hands. The construction of this clock is designed with the highest regard to quality, and is built to last.
